This Summer has been so fun. It has been filled, almost over-filled, with many fun activities and trips. Now, we are back to just the four of us, which is really pretty nice. TJ and I (and now Trip and Mady) are pretty sociable people, so we enjoy spending time with other people...friends, family, etc... Sometimes we enjoy this so much that we forget the importance of family time, time for just the four of us. So, this past weekend, we took some time for just the four of us! But, before we get to that, let me say a huge thank you to Pitty and Grumpa for hosting Trip in Wisconsin for the week! He had a wonderful time! He came back so filled up on love from all of his WI family and he's been passing it on to us too! And, I also want to thank our precious friends, the Guerards, for making our home your home while you were visiting all of your friends back in Peachtree City! We all love you so much and miss you the minute you leave...although, you might not guess that based on the way our children love to push each other's buttons. :-) It means so much to us to be able to spend so much special time with you during the short amount of time you have to share while in town!

Now, back to just the four of us. Despite the recent financial changes our family has been experiencing, TJ and I still felt strongly that we should stick to our plans and have a little vacation for just the four of us! Time to make some of our own special memories and just enjoy being with each other. So, we loaded up the car and headed to Charlotte, NC, to the Great Wolf Lodge! I was SO impressed with this place! From start to finish, there is so much for families to do and experience. Our room was called a Kid Kamp, because the kids got to sleep in bunk beds that were housed in a section of the room made to look like a tent. I think the kids would've been fine to just play in their tent all day ( and night), but there was so much more to do. The main attraction at the Lodge is a huge indoor water park, with slides, a wave pool, a splash park, and other fun water activities. We played there for hours! When the kids were done with the water, there was a video arcade, a mini bowling alley, a craft area and Magic Quest! For those of you that have never heard of Magic Quest, it is SO fun for kids and adults! The kids use magic wands to unlock clues throughout the hotel as they complete their quest for different prizes! At night, there were other fun family activities like PJ story time and a family dance party...that was my favorite part! We just spent a weekend there, but it was unforgettable! The kids even cried when we left and are begging to go back! Anytime we get to make memories, I am grateful, but I am especially grateful for these memories we made...just the four of us!
