Falling Back

Falling back just isn't what it used to be before we had kids.  I used to love "fall back" when we could get an extra hour of sleep.  Now, it seems to work the opposite way and we seem to lose an hour of sleep because our children have no idea that they should want to take advantage of this extra hour of sleep!  The funny thing is that one day, we will be frustrated because they won't get up early enough.  So, I'm just going to look at the "fall back" time change not as an extra hour of sleep, but as an extra hour of free time to spend with my kids.  I feel like I say this all the time, but this fall has been SO busy!  I can't believe it is almost Thanksgiving!      But between balancing school stuff, soccer, ballet, my not so part time job, the oodles of adoption paperwork, meetings and training and fundraising, volunteering with bible study and other things, I have been feeling like I deserve a "FAIL" in the mom department.  I have really struggled with how best to split my time and I feel like Trip and Mady often get the short end of the stick.  So, I will gladly take the gift of an extra free hour of time with Trip and Mady.  We really have had lots of fun the last few months though.  We had  great visits with Pitty and Grumpa, Kaki and Grandad and Katie and Graham and their sweet boys!   Trip and Mady loved having a sleep over party with their cousins and they all actually went to bed pretty well!  Watching Mady and Trip play soccer every Saturday has been entertaining to say the least.  Mady seems to see sports through her mother's eyes; she likes to watch them, but not so much play them, except for the fact that she looks great in her uniform.  Trip, on the other hand, has loved playing again this fall and has really shown some great sportsmanship!  We are so proud of what a sweet friend he is to his teammates and the kids on the other teams he plays too.  Mady is however loving ballet and tap...again taking after her mother.  It really does bring a smile to my face to see her in her little pink leotard dancing around!  I'm including lots of pictures from our fun Fall memories!  So, to those of you that get to sleep in tomorrow, I say...enjoy!  When you wake up later in the morning, I'll have already spent an hour or more playing with my kids!  Happy Fall!
