Singing to Baby Jesus

"Sing Baby Jesus" is what Mady says when she wants to sing "Away in a Manger," and TJ and I had the pleasure of watching both Trip and Mady sing that song and lots others at their preschool's Christmas Program. Again, what a difference a year makes. Last year, Trip stood in front of the parents, dressed as an adorable angel, crying his eyes out because he was so nervous performing. This year, he was dressed as a king and sang his sweet heart out! Mady's class got to sing too. They sat in the front and watched the big kids sing a few songs first, and then they got to join in with them. Mady was a little nervous at first. Neither of her teachers were at school on Thursday, so she had two substitutes and when she didn't see us right away, she got a little teary. But, she got over it and when it was her time she went up to sing with everyone else. And, once she spotted us, she got a big smile on her face and had a great time showing off for us. (The picure above is her smiling, just in case you weren't sure.) After singing, the kids had parties with their classes. TJ and I party-hopped, spending some time with each kid. Trip and Mady really love it when Daddy gets to come to school and meet their friends and teachers. TJ was excited to meet all of Trip's girlfriends! And, we both loved watching Mady chow down on her yummy snacks. I am so thankful that TJ is able to take the time off to be with us on special days like this. I don't know how I would've done it without him. No more school for a couple of weeks while we celebrate Christmas and New Years! I'm looking forward to some free time with the kids, no set schedules, no rushing out each morning. But I know we'll all be ready for school to start back in January.
