Well, the wait is finally over for Mady! She got to start school this week and she was so excited! The last couple of weeks have been hard for her as she's seen Trip go to school and she's been stuck at home with me. We've made the best of it; trying to do at least one fun thing each day. We went swimming, went to get frozen yogurt, visited Kaki, checked out some books and movies at the library and of course, went to the playground! It has been really fun for me to have some good one-on-one time with her, but I know she was ready to start preschool. She has the same teacher Trip had when he was 3, so Mady thinks that is so cool! I did have to warn her teacher though that Mady is nothing like Trip. :-) She will require much more attention.
This past weekend, we went to my parent's house to celebrate my birthday and Graham's birthday. As kids, it seemed like our birthdays were so far apart; we never did any kind of combo party. But, now it just makes sense to celebrate the weekend between both of them. The kids had a great time swimming and eating! It's always so nice to relax and play at Grandad's and Kaki's cabin in the woods. I've gotten to extend my birthday celebration from one day, out to two weeks! I LOVE that! The best part of my birthday was the presents from the kids. TJ asked them to each pick out something they thought I would like. So, Mady got me a baby doll and some candy. And, Trip got me a tiara and some candy. What perfect gifts! Obviously, my kids know me so well. :-)
Now, I am just looking forward to having some "mommy" time twice a week while they are both in school...time to wear my tiara and play with my baby doll. HA! I'll be the one waiting now...for them to come home!
