I feel like each time I find time to blog, I say this...where has the time gone? But, seriously, the days are going by so fast and they are so full of fun and life and also still filled with much sadness in our world. Lately, God has been revealing to me the joy of loving on our children for the time we have!!! In His Word, God tells us that "Here on earth, we will have many trials and sorrows. But, take heart, because I have overcome the world!" So, as we are faced with many trials and sorrows: people close to us moving away, the tragic loss of a teen in our community, another teenage friend of ours running away from home...the list goes on and on. I turn to our Great Comforter and I cry out for his perfect peace that passes all understanding! And, I ask that he remind me daily to enjoy the time he has given me with my kids, my husband, my family, my friends and all those he has put in my life. My time is His time, my life is His life and my purpose is His purpose, by remaining in Jesus, the true vine, I pray His love with overflow in and out of me and onto all those around me. And, may he be glorified through that LOVE!
With all that said, let me share some of the fun, full life we've been experiencing in our family too! We all shared the love on Valentines day! I got to party hop from Mady's preschool party to Trip's party in his kindergarten class. Mady and Trip were on a sugar high from all the candy they got for at least a week! Then, we took them to Florida to spend some time with Pitty and Grumpa where they got loaded up on all kinds of LOVE...and sugar too. :-) I flew alone with the kids for the first time ever. They were GREAT! They are such experienced travelers that it really was super easy to travel alone with them. Sweet Trip even got sick when we landed (literally tossed his cookies), but he took it in stride and handled it really well! Once we got to their house, Grumpa took on the daunting task of teaching Trip to ride his bike without training wheels. He had him riding around the circle outside their house by the end of the first afternoon! Thanks, Grumpa!! Within our first 2 hours there, the kids had played with the toys, ridden the new bikes, and gone for a swim! They didn't want to lose any play time. While the kids got loaded up on grandparent time, TJ and I went on to Key West and had some much needed couple time! We relaxed all week, laying out, eating food, walking around town and just enjoying each other's company without any interruptions! We cannot thank Tom and Patty enough for opening up their vacation home to the kids and allowing us the luxury of having our own vacation! Since we've returned home, Trip has lost 2 teeth! How is that possible? He is still a baby...right? So, the tooth fairy visited our house twice in one week; it was VERY exciting! Trip has also started baseball season! TJ is coaching his team, so they are having fun playing ball together each week. Sweet Mady has decided to take a break from gymnastics, which I must say is fine with me because it is giving her and I some more Mommy and Mady time! So, here is my life lesson of the month: whether it is at 3 in the morning because they've had a bad dream, whether it is during a melt down because they didn't get enough sleep, whether it is while they are laughing hysterically as they play make-believe together, whether it is while they argue over who had that toy first, or whether they are sleeping like an angel in their car seat while we are out running errands...no matter what the circumstance, I will choose to ENJOY my children for the time we have!
