Taking a break!

Seriously...this picture is AWESOME! It is no simple feat trying to get all 7 kids(Clara was missing) to be in the same chair for a picture, forget having them all look at the camera and smile! :-)

Another month has gone by with no blog entries from me. WHAT IS WRONG WITH ME!? What is it about Spring that makes life get so busy? I am SO ready for summer and a break from the schedule. For our week of Spring Break, we spent most of the time with TJ's fabulous family in Florida. But, we did not leave until Tuesday, so on Monday, the kids and I had no plans but to pack. It was so nice! We stayed in our PJs forever, laid in bed and watched cartoons, played and just did whatever we wanted to. It was such a treat and just made me look forward to summer even more! I never thought I would say this, but I actually miss the days when Trip and Mady were not in school and my biggest goal was to get out and get a walk in, while the rest of my day was spent sitting around the house playing with them! Now, I just wish I had time to sit at home and play with them with no where to be. I guess it really is true that you don't know how good something is until it's gone. At least I know how GREAT my kids and my husband are...and they are all still here!

We did have a wonderful and crazy Spring Break. Trip and I counted everyone up and we think there were 21 people staying with Tom and Patty, 8 of which were under the age of 6. The big kids loved sleeping in the bunk room together each night, running crazy with flash light time and sneaking out for dance parties; they all had a blast! I think each child...and each adult...had at least one meltdown during the vacation. But, that is NOT bad to me! We biked to the park, swam every day and went to the beach. And, all the kids got to hunt for eggs on the Saturday before Easter. It was such a nice break from our every day routines to just spend time with our loved ones from Wisconsin. Thank you to Tom and Patty for hosting us all and helping us all make such great memories!!

So, as Spring keeps springing, and the activities just increase, I am counting down the days until those lazy days of Summer begin!!
