The Kuehns: We are FAMILY!

You know that song...We are Family, well, I've had it stuck in my mind the last few days as I have been in a sort of post Spring Break funk. Our Spring Break was family-filled and I LOVED it and I'm seriously missing all of our people! For those of you reading this that have spent Spring Break with us in the past, please don't take this as a dis on all the fun times we had, but this Spring Break was by far my favorite in a LONG time. I LOVE seeing how close my kids are with their family, their cousins, their grandparents, their aunts and uncles. Moving around so much as a kid, I didn't get a lot of extended family time. And, I just have this tremendous appreciation for how special those relationships are for our children. I am grateful for the family that God placed me in from birth and the family that he gave me through marriage and the family he has blessed me with through our biological children and our adopted child. It is such a joy for me to see the impact the relationships my kids have on their sweet spirits. To see them loved and encouraged by other adults and children in their lives. Trip and Mady love to be loved by their little cousins and to love them back. And, I can see how special Eli feels when surrounded by all these people who were strangers to him 2 years ago, but love him unconditionally now. So, I want to say THANK YOU to our extended family! Thank you for loving my kids, for playing with them, for encouraging them, for letting them get your houses dirty, for laughing at their silly stories, for not getting mad when they teach your children something you'd rather they never knew, for singing them happy birthday each year, for showing them the love of Jesus in your words and actions, for letting them hold your babies even though they are still babies themselves, for coming to their recitals and games and school events, for reading them bed time stories, for letting them wake you up early when you visit, for changing their diapers and wiping their runny noses, for sharing stories about our families with them, for spoiling them with treats, for treating them with care and making sure they know how special and important they are to you, for taking time out of your lives to spend time with them...I could go on and on, but I hope you get my point. You have no idea the impact you are making in their lives and I can't thank you enough. We are Family! And, just to personalize this thank you note a little more, I'd like to personally thank you all by name, so here goes...THANK YOU Mom (Kaki), Dad (Grandad), Patty (Pitty), Tom (Grumpa), Katie, Graham, Dan, Jenny, Betsy, Nic and all of your children...Nicholas, Nolan, Vera Kate, Frannie, Hattie, George and August.
