I feel like I completely missed the month of September! Seriously! My brain is fried! I am forgetting things all the time, and I can barely tell you what I/we did last month...all I know is it is now October! I just logged onto the blog, thinking "look at me, I am ahead of schedule for my October blog" (remember my goal of blogging once a month this year?) and after I logged on and searched for over 5 minutes for my missing September blog post, I realized, I never posted one. WHAT?! So, I guess I'm not so much ahead for October as I am behind for September. Oh well...story of my life. :-) Here is what I remember about September...pack up Mady and I for Chicago (HAVE AN AWESOME TIME WITH JENNY AND MY NIECES), unpack, pack TJ and Trip for cub scout camping trip (BOYS HAVE TONS OF FUN CAMPING), unpack, pack me up for retreat for adoptive and foster moms (LOVE MY TIME AT THE RETREAT), unpack, pack TJ and I up for weekend getaway to GA wine country (ENJOY SOME ALONE TIME WITH TJ WHILE KIDS ENJOY TIME WITH KAKI AND GRANDAD), unpack, pack all of us up for whirlwind trip to WI for Aunt Betsy's and Uncle Nic's wedding (HAVE A WONDERFUL VISIT WITH FAMILY AND FRIENDS)! And...I am almost finished unpacking from that last one. Whew, I need to take a deep breath just from typing all of that. Do you ever look at your calendar and wonder how the month turned out like it did, as busy as it did? I think that happens to us a lot around here. It was all super fun things, making lots of great memories, spending special time with each other, but I am glad to be home with no plans to pack and unpack again until Thanksgiving!
...and this concludes the portion of this blog post devoted to September...
Now, I will cheat and use this post to cover my October monthly post as well. :-) A family wedding is the perfect way to kick off October! I think this wedding is something our children will never forget. Not only were they honored to be a part of the ceremony, but they danced their tushes off at the reception and just loved it! Thank you to Betsy and Nic for making them such a special part of your day and including them in all the fun! Weddings always provide an opportunity to think back on the day that TJ and I got married and to think about the life we have built since then. If you had told me, on that day, over 13 years ago, that this was what our life would look like, there is no way I would've believed you. But, I wouldn't trade it for anything. Even after all the packing and unpacking we've done the last month, it's because our life is FULL and that is a blessing! The weather is cooler, life is slowing down a little for us, football is on tv and I am just so thankful for the family and the life that God has chosen for us. I might be losing my mind and forgetting where my keys are, but I am certain that God's plans for us are perfect and good and that he doesn't miss a single moment!
