Long week

This week has been a long, crazy one. Mady had her 9 month appointment on Tuesday. She is doing great! She is 28.25 inches tall and 18 lbs, 9.5 oz, which puts her in the 68% for height and 41% for her weight: tall and skinny. Although, you'd never consider her skinny if you saw her round tummy and chubby thighs. She did so well when she got her shot; she didn't cry at all. I think holding my babies while they get shots is one of the hardest things I've had to do as a mom. TJ has been lucky enough to avoid all appointments where shots are involved. Not fair! The funniest part of Mady's appointments are trying to keep her still while they examine her, try to take her vitals and measure her. She tried really hard to crawl right off the exam bed; there were some nobs on the side that she just couldn't resist. She is moving around really well and she is fast! She is also getting very curious and starting to get into everything. She loves to go through the diaper bag and any other bag or purse she can find. Yesterday, I showed her the cabinet in the kitchen that has plastic cups, etc...that the kids can play with. She then proceeded to try to open every other cabinet in the kitchen to see what fun things they held inside. Apparently, it had never occurred to her that those doors might have treasures hidden behind them.

Trip had a little stomach bug or something over the weekend. He woke up in the middle of the night on Friday covered in puke. TJ was so wonderful and handled it all; which was really great because I went to bed feeling nauseous. He cleaned up Trip, his sheets and his loveys. Then, TJ also handled the other 4 times Trip got up in the middle of the night, 2 of which required more changing of the sheets. Trip was better Saturday morning, but still not himself because he actually just laid around and watched tv pretty much all day, as opposed to running around at 110 mph like he usually does. Mady has shown no signs of the bug yet, so I'm praying it passed over her.

Kaki and Grandad had planned to spend the weekend with us, but decided to just come down today to avoid the stomach bug. Both kids enjoyed playing and showing off for them. My favorite part was listening to them all playing hide and seek upstairs while TJ and I got dinner ready. I can't wait for this summer when both kids can go spend a few days at Kaki and Grandads and we can have a little quiet time at home!
