I ventured out on my own, two kids in tow, to the Aquarium yesterday. Thank goodness I was meeting my sister-in-law, Katie and her mom, along with my precious nephew, Nicholas. I'm not sure we could've done it without the one-on-one adult to child ratio. Trip and Nicholas loved every minute of it. This was Trip's second time there. His favorite parts were the fish he could touch, the alligator, the otters and the person dressed up as Deepo(a Nemo knock-off). Mady did great, and she even missed her morning nap for the 4th day in a row. I don't know which she liked more, the fish or the fact that she could suck on her toes from the angle I was carrying her in the sling. Trip is really starting to be more adventurous and not so shy about things. It is so fun to watch him explore and try new things. Outings like this will be even more fun when both kids get a lot from it.
Tonight, Trip and Mady took a bath together for the first time. I bought this bath seat that attaches to the tub for Mady to sit in. She just moves around too much to be in a little baby tub. And, both kids enjoyed playing together in the tub. Trip did really good sharing his bath toys and playing with Mady. She just adores him! She puts up with so much from him; it always surprises me.
Trip quote of the week: TJ and Trip called Aunt Betsy to wish her a happy birthday on Sunday. After singing the birthday song to her, Trip asked, "Can I have some of your cake, Aunt Betsy?" How cute! Of course, that is the big priority. He is already talking about the cake for his birthday, a month from now.
