Stuck Milk

Today has been a rough one. The kids were scheduled for pictures at 12:30, so I kind of had to rush to get everyone napped, fed and out the door in time. So, of course, in my stress, I had trouble getting my milk to let-down for Mady to nurse before we went. I'm not sure how much she actually got, but it was time to go, so I hastily packed us all up and we raced out the door. I called to TJ from the car to vent and after I got off the phone Trip asked why I was angry. So, I explained way more than an almost 3 year old can understand, telling him that Mommy was having a bad day because we were late for our pictures and Mady didn't get a good lunch because my milk wouldn't work for her. So, we got to the photographers and Trip did what only a boy his age could do, he spilled my story to the photographer. "Mr. Harwell, Mommy is having a bad day today. Her milk was stuck in her boobies and she could not feed Mady." EXACTLY! I couldn't have put it better myself. Thanks, Trip. Luckily, the photographer said he couldn't understand most of what Trip said, so I decided to leave it to his imagination, as I'm sure he at least understood "boobies." I think next time I'll use the classic mommy answer to all questions asked by their kids, "Because I said so."
