We took the kids to the Coweta County Fair tonight! They both had a great time. The first thing Trip saw was the huge ferris wheel and he said that he wanted to ride it. Yeah right! We couldn't even get him to ride the little kiddie rides. He did do the carousel twice, once with Daddy and Mady and once with Mom. Mady wasn't the biggest fan of the ride, but she managed to make it through one ride without too much fuss. That was the only thing she was big enough for. Then, as we walked through the fairgrounds, Trip would see a ride or a game that he wanted to do, and then as we walked up to it and waited in line for it, he would change his mind. My bet is that next year, when Mady is big enough to ride them, she'll convince her older brother to join her. We did finally find some bumper cars that he and Daddy could ride together and he had a great time. Then, we found an easy game both kids could play where all you had to do was pick a duck out of some moving water and you got a prize. Trip got a ball and Mady got a lei (or necklace as we called it). There was a little petting zoo that they both enjoyed. Trip's favorite animal was a pig that just looked so comfy in his hay bed and Mady liked the cows because she could practice her "MOOOOO!" They also had some crazy camels and llamas that you could feed for a price: $1 for food and $1 to walk through the area where the animals were kept. I wonder what happens if you just buy the food, do you get to throw it at the animals from outside the fence, or eat it yourself? I forgot what a rip off fairs can be, but it was well worth the thousands spent. I think TJ and I both liked the funnel cake we all shared at the end the best!
