We have so much to be thankful for, this year especially. Mostly, I am thankful for the chance to spend time with family over the next few months. We've already started the Thanksgiving celebration at our house. This past week, Trip's class had a Thanksgiving Feast and TJ, Mady and I got to join him. He was so cute dressed up as an Indian. The strange thing though was that their wasn't food for the families, just the students. So, basically, we went to watch him eat. Of course,
the only thing Trip wanted to eat was the pumpkin bread and the cookie, so Mady was more than happy to help him clear his plate. Each class had a turn to stand up and say a prayer, or blessing or do a little reading of some kind. As you can see from the picture of Trip, he did not feel like participating. He never does...this is something quite foreign to me, as I still love to be the center of attention. The funny thing is, he draws more attention to himself by refusing to participate and having that sour look on his face then he would if he'd just go along with it. Oh well, I guess this is something I will just have to get used to with
him. I'm pretty sure Mady will have enough drama and performance desires for the both of them. Just look at the picture of her. This is what she was doing this morning before Trip. She used a headband for a necklace, fences for bracelets and borrowed my keys to go "bye-bye." She loves dressing up and can find a way to do it with any material.
We also got to spend some time with my family this weekend up at my parents. Graham and his family were there too. All 3 grandkids got along really well, especially the two boys. Mady and Nicholas did ok, but she really knows how to push his buttons. But, pretty soon, Nolan will be here to push hers right back. I don't know who is more excited for the actual Thanksgiving Day around here. Trip asks me every morning when he wakes up, "Is today Thanksgiving?" I can't wait to see his reaction, when I finally get to answer, "YES!"
