Thanksgiving weekend

Wow! What a busy weekend it's been. We had a wonderful time celebrating Thanksgiving with my side of the family this year. We missed everyone in Wisconsin though. One of the nicest things about Thanksgiving in Georgia is that it's not too cold to sit outside for a while...at least for most of us. The 3 youngest family members (Trip, Nicholas and Mady) spent much of the afternoon playing outside. There were horses to look at, tractors to ride on, and plenty of room to roam around and play football. Of course, Mady was the best eater of the 3, even after she was excused from the table, she would come back and snack off of the others' plates until we cleaned everything up. That night, Trip and Nicholas had a slumber party in the guest room. They had fun playing and talking for a while, but they eventually fell asleep and stayed that way. Mady, on the other hand, decided that 3 in the morning was a good time to have a party in her room, which also happens to be where TJ and I sleep. Her party sounded so fun that Katie and Graham's dog, Baxter, decided to come in a join us and jumped up on the bed with TJ and I. Apparently, this was an unwelcome guest and Mady got upset and cried off and on for the next hour or so. Not much sleep happened in that room that night. Despite our lack of sleep, Katie and I still found the energy to do some Black Friday shopping while Kaki watched the kids and the boys did chores around the house.

We spent the rest of the weekend at home, watching football and decorating for Christmas. This is the first time in years that I've had Christmas decorations up before December 1st. TJ even got all the outside decorations up too. The kids and I "helped" Daddy and got a laugh watching him step on the lights and break a few in the process. In the end, he did a great job and it looks really pretty. Now our house is all decorated for our guests that begin coming this weekend. We are really looking forward to all of our visitors that will be with us over the next month.

I am so thankful for my wonderful family and for all the great memories we are making!
