SUGAR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I think Sugar is our theme word for Halloween this year. We started out the sugar filled day by dressing Mady in her tu-tu and taking her to her make-up music class. She looked so sweet; I just wanted to eat her up. Then, when she and I got home, we all made bat cupcakes! Trip was good about putting the mint wings and ears on and he was really good at making faces with the mini m&ms. Mady, however, could not stop eating all of her pieces and parts. So, basically, she had cupcakes for lunch. Probably not the best idea to make these right before lunchtime. Oh well! After lunch and naps, the kiddos got up and got ready to go over to our friend's house for dinner and trick-or-treating. My friend Libby's birthday is on Halloween, so they always have a birthday party for her that includes some trick-or-treat time for the kids. Mady and Trip looked so cute in their costumes. I was amazed that Mady kept the peanut costume on all night. Despite the yucky, rainy weather, we took all 10 kids out to get CANDY! Trip loved the trick-or-treating! After each house, he would show us what he got and tell us that he had said thank you. It was precious! Mady, went to one house and got very upset that she couldn't stop and eat that candy before moving on the next house. So, after house #2, I unwrapped a lollipop for her and she was good for the rest of the trick-or-treating. She never got another piece of candy. Hopefully, next year she will be running up to each house along with everyone else. We left the party a little early, so we could come home and hand out our own candy. Trip was so good at this. He would hold the basket out and tell the kids to take a piece and when they left, he would yell "Have fun!" So cute! He is still talking about Halloween. Mady talked about Halloween all night, as she proceeded to puke up all the wonderful sugar she had eaten throughout the day. Poor baby! I felt awful. She was up most of the night with an upset tummy. Maybe next year, we'll try and find a different theme word for Halloween.

The busy, fun night helped the kids sleep a little longer through the time change, which was nice. And, then we headed up to see Grandad and Kaki for the afternoon. Trip was so sad that we were only staying for the afternoon and not spending the night.

Mady and I continued the upset tummy fun Monday night and Tuesday. She got sick again early Monday night, it's a good thing I have so many extra crib sheets. And, then I got sick early Tuesday morning. Thank goodness for TJ! He stayed home on Tuesday and was such a huge help. I wouldn't have made it through the day without him. Now, I'm just crossing my fingers that he and Trip don't get whatever stomach bug Mady and I had.
