Rain, rain go away

Today we woke up to a yucky, rainy Sunday. And, Trip, our busy-body, asked his typical morning question..."what fun thing are we going to do today?" So, TJ and I racked our brain for a cheap, family activity we could do without being out in the weather too much. We decided to run to Wal-mart and get supplies to make Valentines cookies. The making of the cookies went pretty well. The funny part was watching the two of them "decorate" their cookies. It was more like watching them OD on sugar decorations while they watched mom and dad decorate cookies. The big cookie pictured above, covered in piles of decorations, was Trip's masterpiece. Mady's masterpiece was her face. I just hope she doesn't puke tonight after all the sugar.

Mady has had some big milestones since I last wrote. For the last few weeks, Mady has been wanting to go potty. While I was away 2 weeks ago, TJ said she walked over to the potty, lifted her shirt, and stood their (like her big brother does) to go potty. She is a little confused about how girls go potty. So, when I got home, l decided I needed explain to her that girls sit when they go potty. So, now everytime I go, she finds a place to sit and says, "Mady potty." I've started sitting her on the potty when she asks. She's yet to actually pee or poop in it, but she thinks she is big stuff. I think her favorite part about going potty is getting to wash her hands afterwards. Mady also started going to "school" last week. We signed her up to go to Mother's Morning Out once a week at the same school that Trip goes to. Her room is right next to his and I don't know who is more excited for her to be there...me, Trip or Mady. My baby is growing up. SAD! But, it sure is nice to have a morning to myself.
