The last couple of weeks have been full of things ending and summer beginning. Our biggest news is that TJ has quit his job of 9 years to move on to a sales position with Geographics. This job is a huge answer to prayer and the end to a year-long search! TJ took a few days off in between jobs, so it's been nice to have him home with us. We also had TJ's mom (Pitty) in town for the week. She and I took the kids to the Imagine It Museum in Atlanta on Monday. We all had lots of fun. The strangest thing happened though, both Trip and Mady, on separate occasions ate the moon sand at the museum. We've been to this museum at least 10 times now and this is the first time either has tried it. WHAT?! Needless to say, neither liked it, so I hope it won't happen again.
Trip had his t-ball party at McDonalds on Tuesday night. At first I thought McDonalds was such a lame choice for a party, but the kids had a blast. There was a huge indoor playground and they played hard! The best part for Trip was getting his first trophy. He is so proud of that trophy. I can't believe he is old enough to be getting trophies.
Trip and Mady both had their last days of school last week. Trip's class had an ice cream party on Thursday. TJ and I both got to go and a friend watched Mady, so Trip had us all to himself. We took him out for a "date" afterwards...lunch at his favorite restaurant, Five Guys. They have huge boxes of shelled peanuts that you can eat while you wait for your burgers. Trip told everyone that he was going on a date with his mommy and daddy. It was really nice to have some alone time with just him.
Friday, we drove up to my parents house for the weekend. TJ, Graham and my dad put up a playground for the kids at my parents' house. The kids got to swim in the pool for the first time and they loved it. The new addition and the pool look great and it's so much fun for everyone!
