As I enjoy my 5th Mothers Day, it once again occurs to me, what a wonderful mother God blessed me with! I will never be able to put into words what an inspiration my mother is. She is beautiful inside and out, more than she could imagine. She has a way of making everyone that knows her feel loved and special. She has been such a wonderful example of a how to be a completely selfless mother who loves her children unconditionally all the time. I wish I had realized how amazing she is a long time ago, so I could've been telling her this for years! It's funny how becoming a mom has allowed to me to see what a remarkable mother I have, the kind I want to be for my children too! So, to my Marvelous Mother, Thank you and I Love You!
TJ and the kids have treated me to a wonderful Mother's Day weekend! It actually started on Thursday, after Trip's Water day at school. Trip told me that he made a Mother's Day surprise for me. As I searched through his bucket from school, I found a pretty picture that he'd made and asked if that was it. He told me there was more than that, but I couldn't find anything else in the bucket. So, when I asked him what it was, he said, "I can't tell you, it's a surprise." He said he'd ask his teachers about it the next time he was at school. When I told him that would be after Mother's day, his response was, "It will get here before then." I wasn't sure how, but I let it go. A few hours later, TJ came home from work and asked if I knew there was a flower out front. Trip goes, "Is it purple, is the pot brown, is it decorated with ladybugs and butterflies?" He reminded me of Rain Man. TJ answered yes to all of Trip's questions and I went out to take a look. Sure enough, there was the Mother's Day gift Trip had made me at school, a purple flower in a brown pot decorated with ladybugs and butterflies. One of his friend's parents had dropped it off, since we didn't get it from school. The faith of a child; he knew it would get here, and it did. The celebration continued on Saturday as we went out to dinner and out for ice cream. The kids gave me their cards and gifts on Saturday night. The best part is that TJ had them do drawings and answer one question. "What do you love about your Mommy?" Here are their answers: Mady-"SO MUCH!" Trip-"She gives me great hugs and great kisses. Sometimes she plays with me and she makes me breakfast, lunch and dinner. Sometimes she does bad things, but I forgive her. And, she drives me in the car." Gotta love those answers. This morning, TJ made me a delicious breakfast before we headed out to church. I wish every day was Mother's day!
