Sing a song

There is nothing sweeter than the sound of my children singing. Wrong words, off key, off beat, I don't care...listening to their precious voices always makes me smile. And, best of all, is to listen to them sing songs of praise to our Lord and Savior. Last Friday, during bible study, the kids sang for the moms and it was wonderful. This is not always a fun experience for me, because Trip is not much of a performer. He hates being in front of people and having them look at him while he does anything, but especially sing. So, when it comes time to sing for the moms, Trip is usually in tears. Once he finds me, he runs to me and that is the end of his performance. But, not this time...he did great! It was such a treat to see him smile, make the motions and sing the songs. Mady, being the complete opposite of her brother, loves to be watched and to put on a performance. And, she was in prime form. It was such a joy to watch them both. CBS (our bible study) has such a great children's program. They teach the kids bible verses in the form of songs and it is so awesome to hear those verses coming out of their little mouths. The best is when they learn to apply the words to their lives. Last week, Trip was scared to ride his bike around the block, but he remembered his bible verse and started singing it as he rode his bike to help him. "The Lord is my helper, my helper, my helper, the Lord is my helper, I will not be afraid." (Hebrews 13:6). What a blessing to be involved in a ministry that not only teaches my children about the stories of the bible, but also helps them apply those stories to their lives!
