Turning Three

I cannot believe that my little baby boy is three! He is so big now, barely a baby at all anymore. But, he will always be my baby. In a way, it seems like just yesterday we were driving him home from the hospital, so happy to have him, but terrified too. In another way, it seems like an eternity ago. I can still picture that sweet little smile on his face the first time he learned to walk, or the way he would army crawl into the bathroom for baths. I miss the way he used to just run his fingers through my hair and suck his thumb to soothe himself. Now he can play by himself, use complete sentences and even use a potty! I must admit this year between 2- 3 has been tough on all of us. He is definitely testing things out and seeing who is really in charge. But, deep down, I know he is still that sweet, innocent baby. I am looking forward to this next year and the ones to come, as he continues to grow and learn. We've certainly had our ups and downs as parents, but I just hope he always knows how much we love him!

This weekend has been packed with all sorts of fun birthday activities. He took cookies to share with his class at Mother's Morning Out on Thursday and then to our bible study on Friday. He waited so patiently for Daddy to get home on Friday, so we could open presents. This year's theme has been CARS! He got lots of race cars and a mat with a road on it and a garage to go with it. Then, on Saturday my parents and brother and his family came down for cake and ice cream and even more presents. Then, today we took Trip and his friend Asher to see the Disney Playhouse Live with Mickey and friends. The boys were so great. When the show started, they were mesmerized. They both really loved it! This is really the first year that Trip gets what is going on. It's so fun to make these memories with him! Next up...Christmas!
