We've started playing music while we are making dinner and/or cleaning up the kitchen in the evenings. The kids really like it. Trip runs around, swinging his arms and says he is dancing. Mady watches in awe and smiles a lot. The other night, I put in "Hey Mickey," the classic 80's hit. Mady loved it! She smiled so big. I think we may have another cheerleader in the making. Trip doesn't really care what the song is as long as it's loud and fast.
We convinced Trip to eat some asparagus last night. Of course, it had to be followed by ice cream (the incentive for getting him to eat the vegetable). That still counts as eating healthy...right? Mady on the other hand, wants a bite of everything. Her latest faves are grapes (without the skin) and blueberries. Yummy! I was so protective of Trip and what he ate as a baby, so I am trying to be better with Mady, hoping that will make her a less picky eater. Only time will tell. And maybe, just maybe, Trip will be willing to try these things he sees Mady eating.
