Here is our Trip quote of the week:
First let me give you a little background info. Mady has graduated from her baby carrier/car seat, to a big car seat. So, now I have to put her in the car first and then Trip. This requires that Trip stand next to me while I get her in the car, which we all know is hard for a 3 year old. He would much rather run around, even in a parking lot, even when he's been warned 1,ooo times not to. So, today after I picked him up from "school," I was putting Mady in the car, and Trip decided not to listen to Mom and run around the car to the other side. As he decided to do this, another mom, driving very carefully and slowly drove through the parking lot. Thank goodness she saw him and didn't come anywhere near hitting him. But, I decided to use this as an opportunity to demonstrate to him the dangers of running away from Mommy in a parking lot. So, I pointed to the car and told him that car could've hit him and that he needed to be obedient and listen to me and stay close when I am putting Mady in the car. The woman then proceeded to get out of her car and go into the church to pick up her child. So, Trip decided this was a good time to teach this woman about safe driving, and yelled out "Hey! You almost hit me." WHAT! No, no, no, this is not about her, this is about you little man. (that's what I was thinking) The woman was busy on the phone and didn't really pay him much attention, but I corrected him and told him that actually she was a good driver. And, thanks to her looking out for him, nothing bad had happened. Oh boy!
