Today was a cold, yucky day here in the South. Not really Spring Break kind of weather. With an entire week with both kids at home every day and not a chance to play outside the next couple of days, we just might go nuts. Trip and I decided to decorate Easter eggs today. He did a really good job. His eggs look great! And, he didn't get very messy at all. I think his favorite part was eating the one egg that was already cracked. He loves hard boiled eggs. He thinks the yellow yolk part in the middle is cheese. I don't want to tell him otherwise, because I'm afraid he won't eat them anymore.
Mady made the best of this cold day by playing around in her crib instead of napping this afternoon. I knew she was up to something by all the screams of joy coming from her room. And, sure enough, when I went in to get her, she was standing up in her crib (for the first time) and in her sleepsack, no less. That cannot be an easy feat. Back to the screams of joy, she loves to do that now. She screams all the time, not upset, but happy screams. And, it makes her most happy when Trip screams along with her.
At least we did get to enjoy a lovely weekend at my parent's house. The weather was beautiful and both kids had fun playing outside. Trip, TJ and my dad had fun trying to get rid of all the carpenter bees by whacking them with tennis rackets. And, Mady wrestled with anyone who got between her and the muddy rocks she desperately wanted to eat. It's always fun to visit Kaki and Grandad, especially because they always have yummy treats. You can always count on the 3 C's: Cheez-its, Cookies and Cinnamon rolls and this weekend we got Chocolate ice cream too. Mady and Trip both loved that! And, Trip even got to stay up a little late and watch some of the basketball play offs. He somehow never goes to bed on time there. Hmmm.....
