Baby steps

Mady has mastered the stairs! She's been going up one or two steps for the past week or so, but today she made it all the way to the top with Trip and I trailing close behind the whole way. Then, tonight, while we were all getting ready for bed, she managed to disappear for a bit. I came into the bathroom and realized she was gone. I asked TJ where she was and he didn't know. So, we both immediately went to the stairs and there she was. She had crawled down almost half way, head first. She was doing just fine until Daddy came up behind her and startled her, so she lost her balance a little, but TJ got to her before she fell. She cried a little, but I'm not sure if it was because she was scared or just mad that we stopped her journey.

Trip has taken some baby steps of his own today. After over 2 weeks of struggling with his sleep issues, we realized that we could push his train table up against his closet, so he could no longer pull everything out and put it on his bed. We are so smart and so slow! So, with no toys to play with and no access to his closet, he went to bed pretty well last night. Today he was allowed to have a few toys back in his room. And, he got ice cream for a treat. The plan was to get it from our ghetto ice cream truck, but of course, the night that we promise it, he doesn't show. Luckily, we had some ice cream on hand that worked just as well. Maybe the ice cream truck will make an appearance tomorrow.
