Batter Up!

Saturday was Trip's first baseball game of the season! It was a beautiful weekend. And, my parents were coming down to watch the kids for us, so they got to enjoy the game too. This season Trip is playing "coach-toss" instead of t-ball. His team is the Owlz! He had such a great time playing. Every time he came to home plate, he HAD to slide! Why is it that all little boys have to slide? I can't wait to try and get that Georgia red clay out of his baseball pants tomorrow when I do laundry. Mady loves being at the ball field too because there is a playground for her. I just wish it was closer to the actual field Trip plays on, so I didn't have to choose between entertaining her and cheering on Trip. I must say though, that Mady is quite the cheerleader for her brother and his teammates. She repeats everything she hears yelled from the stands, even the negative stuff. :-) I heard her copying one mom, saying, "Bryce, pay attention!" She is going to make one good sports mom! They also had a concession stand open this year, which did not happen last year. Mady HAD to have a snack so Grandad took her over to pick out a snack. What did she choose...a Tootsie Pop. What kind of a snack is that?! I am looking forward to spending the season outside in the beautiful Spring weather. I LOVE baseball! The kids enjoyed the rest of their time with Kaki and Grandad. So much so, that by the time they had to leave this afternoon, Trip was begging for them to take him with them! I'm pretty sure if they both didn't have to work tomorrow, his tears might have actually worked. Maybe, next time, I'll cry too and then they will HAVE to take him...and Mady too. :-)
