Yankee Doodle Dandy

Yankee Doodle Dandy...I forgot how much I used to love singing this song as a kid until Trip and Mady sang it Tuesday at their schools Patriotic Day program! There are so many great American songs that we stop singing once grow up...Your a Grand 'Ol Flag, America the Beautiful, This Land is Your Land...what great songs! I think we should switch it up a little more at sporting events and not just stick with our National Anthem (even though that is written by a relative of mine). Anyway, I had a great time watching Trip and Mady sing these songs on Tuesday! Each of their classes made special shirts and hats for their parade and sign-a-long. They were so cute parading around school and waving their flags. And, it still surprises me each time I see my sweet, shy Trip get up and sing and do the motions at any kind of performance. I can't believe this is the same child that cried anytime we sang "Happy Birthday" to anyone! :-) This time I was the one crying as I realized that this is one of the last times both he and Mady will sing together at their precious preschool! I know he'll still perform for me in elementary school, but it is so fun to watch them both, signing together, getting along for just a brief moment in time. I don't understand why my STOP TIME button is not working! I did manage to get a few cute pictures that at least help capture time since I can't seem to stop it. Now, I'm off to London just to ride a pony....
