Our "perfect" family

Many of you have heard this story already, but I felt it need to be repeated on the blog, if for no other reason, than for me to remember it forever! On Fridays, the kids and I go to CBS (Community Bible Study). While I am studying God's word with other women, Trip and Mady are involved in the kids program. Each week, they learn a new story from the bible, sing songs, make a craft and play with other kids their age. They both love it and it is such a joy to hear them tell me about what they've learned and how they apply God's word to their lives. Each Friday, the Children's Program Director comes up to talk to the adults and tell us what the children are learning. She also shares a cute story about the kids each week. Often, the names of the children are left out of the story, but this time, as she started the story, she looked right at me and said "this one is about your kids." I was immediately AFRAID! :-) So, the kids learned the story of the women who came to Jesus seeking forgiveness and washed his feet with her tears and perfume. So, after hearing the story, the children's director was visiting the classes and talking to the kids about the story they'd heard. First, she visited Mady's class and asked have any of you ever had to forgive anyone? Well, the room full of 2 year olds just stared at her with blank looks, so she brought it down to their level and asked have you ever had a toy taken away by a friend or family member and forgiven them for upsetting you? Still blank looks from the kids. So, then she turned to Mady and asked, "Have you ever had to forgive Trip for hurting your feelings or taking something from you?" Mady' response: "no." Take two: "Well, have you ever taken a toy from Trip and he forgave you?" Mady's response: "no." Next question, "Have you ever had to forgive anyone in your family?" Mady's response: "no." Final question: "Is your family perfect?" Mady's response: "YES!" Thinking...hoping this was the end of the story, I was glad to know that my family came out looking so good. :-) But, the story was not over, on to Trip's class. The Children's Director came into his class and asked the same first question, "Have you ever had to forgive anyone?" Since this class is older, a few of them raised their hand, including Trip. So, she asked Trip, "Who have you had to forgive?" And, Trip answered, "I have HAD to forgive SO many people, that I can't even remember!" Seriously! Could their answers be any more different? Or any more hilarious! Where do they get this? And, now all the women at CBS know how "perfect"...or CRAZY our family is! Speaking of crazy, the above picture is of Trip and his new friend Jaxson. Our new neighbors came over for dinner last night and they boys thought they were so hysterical dressing up in all of Mady's tu-tus! We are full of Crazy!
