On Thursday we got to tour one of the local fire stations. Trip loved it! He says his favorite part was when one of the trucks pulled up after having gone to fill up on gas and turned it's sirens on for the kids. He and Mady both thought that was cool. He talked to the fire fighters like they were his best friends. He was so outgoing and just asked if he could get up and ride in the trucks and ambulances and if he could play with some of the tools. His least favorite part was the tour of the inside of the station...seeing where the fire fighters slept and ate. They made the mistake of taking us into a little classroom and talking to us about what they do and he had a fit. He kept asking me to give him something to do or give him a snack. The last thing he wanted to do was sit and listen to them talk in a classroom. I couldn't really blame him, sitting in a classroom is not that fun for anyone, especially a 3 year old!
The funniest thing to me about the above picture is that Trip refuses to wear his fireman hat the right way. He insists on putting it on backwards, it looks more like a baseball cap that way. They make such cute fire fighters.
