SAD! Kaki left our house this afternoon. We've had such a wonderful, crazy week with her. She and Mady have had lots of good bonding time. This is such a fun age with Mady. Everyday she does something new and it is so fun to watch. She and Kaki played a lot with her new toys. She wasn't quite sure what to do with her baby doll, but when Kaki handed her a car, Mady started "vrooming" it across her baby doll's head. Then, when they were having a tea party with her new tea set, Mady used the top of the tea pot as a car too. Can you tell she has a big brother? Today we had a breakthrough with the girlie toys though. She was holding her baby doll and giving her the bottle. It was so sweet and precious! And, she poured me some tea into my little tea cup. The other thing she is loving is her new car we gave her for her birthday. Today she figured out how to get on and off it by herself. Now, if she could just figure out how to push it, that would save me a lot of pain in my knees and lower back. :-) She is getting better each day at walking with some one holding her hands. I hope she is walking by Catherine's wedding in Wisconsin at the end of the month, so she can dance with me at the reception. Mady's talking is coming along too. Kaki taught her to say thank you and she says, "Tsss" for Trip. You can tell she understands so much and she tries communicating in other ways too. Today, she nodded yes and pointed to me when I asked her if she needed help getting on her car.
Trip and I have been attending vacation bible school at our church all week. Trip is having a great time and has totally fallen in love with one of his middle school helpers. She is a sweet girl named Abby and she holds Trip all morning long. He loves her! It's been a crazy, busy week for me as I've been in charge of snacks. But, it's been a really fun week for him.
