We had the pleasure of keeping our nephew, Nicholas with us for a few days this week. His world was recently rocked with the arrival of his sweet, baby brother Nolan. So, I thought it would be fun to come hang out with us and give mommy a "break" and some bonding time with the baby. We had Nicholas over for a few nights this summer, and I have to say it went way better this time. Trip and Nicholas get along so well! They played great together. And, Mady and Nick did better than I expected. Mady knows how to push Nick's buttons and likes to antagonize him, but this time, Nicholas really stood up for himself. And, Mady got the hint. Trip and Nick shared a room for two nights and they actually went right to bed each night and slept all night long. Sweet Nicholas is used to getting up early at home and coming out of his room, so TJ and I told him to stay in the room until I came to get him in the morning. When I went to check on him Monday morning, he was wide awake just rolling around on his pallet on the floor. He was being so quiet that Trip stayed asleep for at least another 3o minutes. I wonder how long Nick had been awake before I came in there. My favorite moment was when the three kids and I decided to play a game, kind of like a charades game. They were all so cute to watch and played so well together, taking turns. I look forward to watching them all grow up together and can't wait for Nolan to be able to join in the fun!
