Savannah

Wow! What a weekend. We planned to leave for Savannah after breakfast on Friday morning to spend the weekend with our friends Travis, Miranda and their daughter Hannah. But, Mady had other plans. She woke up with serious diaper rash that required a trip to the doctor and then to the pharmacy for a prescription. So, we ended up leaving about 90 minutes later than we had originally planned. The drive went well and the kids did great, especially considering that they didn't eat lunch until after 1 pm. Both kids took a little nap on the way down and then we put Mady down for another nap after we got to Savannah. While Mady was sleeping, Trip made himself right at home, playing with all of Hannah's toys, which he had all to himself. Travis and Miranda both work, so they didn't get home with Hannah until after we had arrived. That night we all went out to eat with Travis's parents. They are great! Consistent with the rest of the day, dinner went a little late thanks to TJ's order. Poor TJ. We drug him to a seafood restaurant and he hates seafood. But, he found some fried chicken on the menu and he ordered that. Unfortunately, he failed to notice that the menu stated to allow an extra 30 minutes for the chicken. So, we didn't get our food until after 8 pm. Those sweet kiddos were such troopers.

Saturday we went downtown to River Street. We, of course, had to take the kids to the candy store to pick out some yummy treats. I don't know who was more excited, the kids or the adults. Then, we went to a Forsyth Park. They have a little playground for the kids to play on and we thought it would be a great way to wear them out. Well, it really wore Trip out. He somehow managed to fall from the top of one of the slides. We still aren't really sure how he did it, but he got some major cuts and bruises from his fall. Poor Baby! He's such a big boy though, he really barely cried and got back on the slide a few minutes later. After some big naps that afternoon, we grilled out and the grown ups had fun hanging out after the kids went to bed.

On Sunday, we took their boat out! It was so much fun. I think this was my favorite part of the weekend. The picture is one of all 3 kids after our boat ride. Doesn't Mady look comfortable in her big life vest! Trip and Mady were great for the ride home too. Then, only 5 minutes from our house, poor Trip could not hold his bladder anymore and he peed all over himself. Fun way to end our trip. All in all we had a great time. It was so nice to spend some time with wonderful friends.
