So many friends, so little time

I can't believe I am just now sitting down to write about our weekend. We had a fun weekend, packed full of old and new friends. First TJ and I went to a party up in Atlanta with some of his old UGA buddies. We hardly get to see those guys anymore, especially without kids, so it was really nice to catch up with everyone. Kaki and Grandad braved Friday afternoon Atlanta traffic and came down to stay with the kids. THANK YOU! Trip and Mady really enjoyed having them here, especially Trip because that means he gets to stay up late and watch the Braves! Won't be long and Mady will get to participate too, although that girl really loves her sleep, so she may opt not to. Then, on Saturday after naps, we drove up to see TJ's old roommate Jon Nordin and his wife Lisa and son James. When they were roommates, Jon was dating Lisa and TJ and I were dating, so we used to hang out a lot. It's always so fun to see them. Jon made delicious fajitas and margaritas and the boys played really well together. Mady did her own thing, as usual, but had lots of fun too. We spent the night, so we could hang out once the kids were asleep. And, then Jon made yummy french toast in the morning. I don't know who was more worn out on the way home, TJ and I or the kiddos. As if that wasn't enough fun for one weekend, we then had dinner plans with some friends down here on Sunday night. We had a wonderful time, but Mady was so tired from the busy weekend that she had a major meltdown by 7 pm and could not recover. This is very unusual for her, but like I said before, the girl loves her sleep.

I didn't take any pictures from our weekend, but these are just a couple of cute ones of the kids at home. One is what it looks like in our house after naps in the afternoon, while Mommy makes dinner: two tv junkies watching toons and pigging out on snacks. The other is what it looks like at our house after dinner: one tired Daddy trying to wear out two silly kids outside while Mommy cleans up the kitchen.
