Two is enough

This weekend was wonderfully exhausting. Our sweet nephew, Nicholas, came to stay with us and having 3 kids under the age of 4 in our house was quite an adventure. We all had a great time, especially Trip and Nicholas. They played so well together. Trip loved having him here and I hope Nick liked being here. The funny thing to watch was Mady and Nick. She learned how to push his buttons early on and push, and push she did. By the end of the weekend, all she had to do was start walking toward Nicholas and he would just scream "NOOOO!"

Graham and Katie dropped Nick off on Friday afternoon, just in time for naps, although, Nick napped a little in the car, so he had no interest in napping here. I was a little bummed, because both my kids were napping for the first time that week, but it was nice to have some alone time with him. I never get that. Then, we all hung out and played Friday afternoon. This silly picture is of the kids doing "upside down" after dinner. Nicholas finished his dinner first, and while the rest of us were eating, he just got down on the floor and looked at us from this position and said "upside down." We all laughed, and so Trip had to do it as soon as he was done too. When Trip did it, TJ and I laughed again, and Mady and Nick proceeded to do it along with Trip to get some laughs too. They were so funny! On Saturday, we tried to take the golf cart to the pool in the morning, but about 2 blocks from our house it broke down. So, our friends towed it back to our house for us and we loaded everything and everyone into the car. We got to the pool and realized we had left the pool key in the golf cart. So, TJ drove back and the kids and I played on the playground outside the pool. So, we left for the pool right down the street from us at 9:30 a.m. and were going through the gate into the pool by 10:30 a.m. Quite a start to our morning. Nick's new thing to say when he is not happy, is "I can't like it." And, by the end of that adventure, he really could not like it! But, we all had fun swimming and then came back home for lunch. Everyone took a huge nap that day! On Sunday, Kaki and Grandad came down and Graham and Katie came back to get Nicholas. We celebrated my birthday and Graham's with some delicious pizza and cupcakes. When everyone left that evening, I was so tired I could barely remember my name. It was so great to have so much time with Nicholas. I hope (and so does Trip) that we can do it again really soon!
