Breakthrough

We seem to have finally had a breakthrough on the sleep issues with Trip. Last night, TJ offered to let Trip keep the door cracked and it worked! He went to bed quietly, no yelling for us from the door, no coming out of his room, no freak outs! Now, I know all the grandparents reading this are saying, "we told you so." But, I was afraid to try this at home. I was so worried he would come out of his room or just scream out the door for us constantly and wake Mady up, but neither or those happened. And, in the morning, he still called for me from his bed instead of coming out of his room and waking the whole house up. We are on night 2 of our new found trick and so far so good. I am still insisting we keep the door closed at nap time...mommy needs her alone time, but I'm glad this is working at night.

Today, both kids were big helpers while I cleaned the house. Apparently, they both like dusting. Trip has enjoyed helping with this chore for quite some time now, in fact he has more than one duster to call his own. But, today, Mady joined in on the fun. Of course, I go behind them to do it the "right" way, but it's still so fun to have the help. After we finished dusting, Trip pulled out his rapping frog and played it for Mady. She loved it as much as he does and was singing "go, go, go" along with the frog. Too cute! They danced all morning to that silly frog. I love it! They have great taste in music.

Mady is really starting to repeat words and has a few that are pretty easy to understand. Of course, one of her favorites is "Ba" for ball. She also has "uh-oh" and "baby" down perfectly. Some of her new ones are something that sounds like "juice" which she uses interchangeably for juice or milk or anything in her sippy cup, "wa-wa" for water and "bo-ba" for blueberries. I love learning their little languages.
